How To Make Armor Stand In Minecraft
We make a tonne of things in Minecraft, from small houses, to dozens of meters deep mines for diamonds. In the beginning, it is all about survival, making our houses secure, getting strong armor for ourselves for protection, even fencing the village to keep the mobs away.
But after a certain point, we even start decorating our houses and village and whatnot. One such item is the armor stand.
The armor stands in Minecraft can be used to display our body armor on a wooden stand, in the shape of a human.
So let’s start our guide today, telling us how to craft an armor stand.

How To Make Armor Stand In Minecraft?
Setting up our armor on an armor stand can be a really overwhelming experience. But the procedure to make an armor stand is quite easy. But one step requires a little bit of effort, and if we are unaware of the ingredient, it can be quite a time taking. So let us start with the requirements.
Requirements
- Crafting Table
For our assembling the items need, we always need a crafting table.
- Cobblestone
An Indirect ingredient, it will come into use a lot of times.
- Furnace
It Will be used for converting some materials from indirect to direct ingredients.
- Smooth Stone Slab
Our second direct ingredient to be put into use.
- Sticks
Sticks, as seen obviously used, will be our direct ingredient.
- Stone Cutter (optional)
Now that we have an overview of everything we need, let’s start with obtaining them.
-
Crafting Table
Since all eternity, our first tool to build has been the one and only, crafting table.
Once we have our table for crafting ready, we can start making armors, tools, equipment, everything next.
Since we know the importance of our crafting table, let’s go ahead and build one.
To make a crafting table, we are going to need wood. And as abundant as wood is, in Minecraft, it should take no more than a few seconds for us to get what we want.
To get wood, just break the tree blocks. Once we have the wood from the trees, we can start making planks.
To make planks, simply place the wood logs obtained into the crafting section of the inventory, in a single square. Now with our planks ready, we can make the crafting table we direly needed.
To make a crafting table with planks, we need to place the planks in the crafting section of our inventory, in all four squares. Â As shown in the picture below, we can now click on the crafting table and place it in our inventory to further use it.
Now that we are ready with our crafting table, let us move on to the next step.
-
Cobblestone
Cobblestone will be used quite a lot, in our armor stand crafting recipe, as well as in our gameplay ahead.
So how do we find and obtain cobblestone? Cobblestone is very abundant in the overworld or the normal world where we live. It can be found easily by digging only a few blocks of dirt.
To break cobblestone, we can use a wooden pickaxe.
Cobblestone is non-luminescent, and stackable in our inventory, it is very often used for making walls of our houses and forts.
Now that we are ready with cobblestone, we can move ahead.
-
Furnace
We will learn what exactly is the use of a furnace in our recipe a little bit later. But before we reach that point, let us learn about making it first.
Furnace, although we already know it, is used for melting metal ores and cooking food. And for making a furnace, we will use our freshly dug cobblestone.
Using the cobblestone that we recently collected, and the crafting table, we can build a furnace. To do so, we need to open our crafting table, and put the cobblestone blocks in the following shown pattern.
To craft a furnace in the crafting table, we need to place 8 blocks of cobblestone in the crafting. Leaving the center square of the crafting table empty, put one cobblestone block on every other corner/edge/side of the crafting table. Like this –
Now that we have our furnace ready, let’s place some coal into it as fuel and move on to our next step.
-
Smooth Stone Slab
Smooth stone slabs will be our first direct ingredient used for our armor stand Minecraft recipe.
But if you are wondering how and where do we get smooth stone, then do not worry, you almost already have it.
That’s right, we already have smooth stone, just not in its final form. What we are talking about is cobblestone. Smooth stone slabs in Minecraft can be made with cobblestone. How? Using the furnace that we built using the same cobblestone.
To make smooth stone blocks from cobblestone, we need to put the cobblestone blocks into the furnace and melt them once. The cobblestone after first smelting will turn into stone. As shown below.
Now that we have converted our cobblestone into stone, we now need to melt it once again to finally turn it into smooth stone blocks. Do so again by placing the stone blocks into the furnace.
Once again now that stone is turned into smooth stone in the furnace, collect them into inventory to finally turn them to smooth stone slabs.
Now for making smooth stone slabs, we need to simply place our smooth stone blocks into the crafting table in this order: three smooth stone blocks in a single row.
After placing it like shown below, click on the resulting square to obtain the smooth stone slabs and place them into your inventory.
Ready with our smooth stone slabs, we just need one last thing for our Minecraft armor stand recipe, which is the sticks. Let’s go get it.
-
Sticks
Sticks are very commonly used, and almost everywhere, from fishing rods, to pickaxe, swords, almost every other tool that we use. And that much common it is to obtain them.
We can make sticks by simply combining the planks in the crafting section of our inventory, or, the crafting table. Now how do we exactly do that?
To make sticks using wood planks, we need to place two blocks of wood planks one above the other in the crafting section.
Here we can see that two blocks of wood plank results in 4 sticks, so you can approximate it for your required usage.
[Note that we can use any kind of wood to make planks for making sticks]
Now that we have everything ready for making our armor stands in Minecraft, let us finally assemble them.
-
Assemble
To craft the armor stand in Minecraft, we are going to use our crafting table.
Now since the stand has a design structure similar to the person wearing it, therefore it looks like that. That will be our guide to designing it in the crafting table.
We are going to need exactly 6 sticks and 1 smooth stone slab.
The order of placing the sticks is, 3 in the top row. 1 in the center square of the middle row, and 2 in the left and right-sided squares of the bottom row.
Place the smooth stone slab in the center square of the bottom row.
Once we have placed them like this, simply click on the result square to acquire the armor stand and place it in the inventory. Boom, we have our very own armor stand now!
Stone Cutter (Optional)
As we mentioned earlier, a stone cutter is a tool that is an optional step in the procedure. Let us tell you why.
Sone cutters can be made using the ingredients mentioned above, with an extra, iron ingot.
Now the use of stone cutter is to directly cut the blocks of cobblestone and its derivatives into other forms, like stairs, or slabs, etc.
Since we can always do that using a crafting table only, we do not need to spend extra effort into making a stone cutter. But still, if you want to know how to make it, here is the procedure.
Place 3 stone blocks in a row from left to right, and one iron ingot in the center square on the row above it. Just like shown in the picture below. And that is how we can make stonecutter in Minecraft.
Conclusion
So this was our detailed and easy-to-go guide for making/crafting/building an armor stand in Minecraft. We can use it outside our houses, or inside too., to show off our diamond armors, but be careful in PvP someone can steal them too.
